Spent most of the July 4 holiday in bed with a cold. I did manage to sort out some of the ciforth stuff. Got block editing working. I like reva's line editor, so wrote a few screens to list screens with line numbers. Then I added a BROWSER word which allows you to scroll from screen to screen. I'm working on a text file pager in an external "INCLUDED" file. I'll probably compile it into a turnkey .exe file that I can load into my PXE-loaded DOS rescue image. I like working in screens, mostly for things I want built-in to the forth image. I'll put application level things into external files. I had one 'event' where I messed up on one screen and had to recover it from a backup. Took awhile but it wasn't that complicated. It boils down to using PUT-FILE to write the block from the backup, then reloading forth with the current blockset, GET-FILE MOVE UPDATE finish the task. ... Link
