Got Xastir running on the linux box. My TNC is a PK-88 and rather cranky. I'm running it on an 12 volt wall wart. For some reason I get a blip at the end of each packet transmitted. Haven't found any way to turn that off. Looks like the current route for aprs is a simple WIDE2-2. Got that set up. I did manage to get a packet out last night, so I should be visible (KD7TVZ) on findu.com for a few days. I need to post the settings I'm using on the TNC here sometime. The faceplate has fallen off of the PK-88. It looks like someone used too much glue to fix it last time that happened. I'll have to scrape that all off and redo it. I would like to run a regular packet station but I forgot the name of the UCARES station over at camp williams, so no luck there. The local packet frequency for Utah County is 145.030. Maybe I will take the gear up to SLC and try it there. ... Link |
